Flooded
January fourth I showed up to the shop to find that my entire block had been flooded. We had just remodeled the shop several months earlier and installed new bamboo flooring. The water destroyed the floor and damaged much of my inventory. I had to move all of my merchandise into storage units and rip out he floor and a thin layer of carpet. Under the carpet was an old tile floor which had to be removed by an asbestos abatement specialist. All in all we were closed for sixteen days and a grand total of damage close to forty thousand dollars. To add insult to injury my insurance company informed me that they were not going to cover any of the damage because it was a natural disaster, not exactly the way I hoped the year would start out. If you read this please come down and support our shop by purchasing something, we really need your help right now to get back up on our feet. Thanks!

  RV'ing
What can I say, when I left the RV rental office I was scared. They had a $1000 dollar security deposit charged to my credit card and I was going to pick up twelve skateboarders and pile them in this thirty foot coach and go on a three day mission of madness. As I left the office the woman behind the counter said that if she could smell smoke or beer in the RV when it was returned they would automatically keep $750 of the deposit as a cleaning charge. I guess I am a risk taker after all because it was only a couple of hours into the trip that the first of many beers was spilt.

We were off to a late start. It was after five and we we heading north on our way to Yuba city. I calculated the time and Forrest Koogle verified my suspicions on his hand held GPS device, WE WOULDN'T MAKE IT TO YUBA BEFORE DARK. We decided instead to stop by the Willits skate park and head to Yuba later. Our first priority always is to skate so we made it happen.Photobucket
